13 Turkmen Universities Included in THE World University Rankings 2026

Thirteen universities of Turkmenistan have been listed in the new 22nd edition of the THE World University Rankings 2026, holding the status of “Reporter.”

According to the results recently published by the British organization Times Higher Education (THE), the ranking includes the following institutions:

  • Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages,

  • Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan,

  • Turkmen Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics,

  • International University for the Humanities and Development,

  • Magtymguly Turkmen State University,

  • Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan,

  • Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan,

  • State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan,

  • Turkmen Agricultural Institute,

  • S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University,

  • Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction,

  • Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, and

  • Turkmen State Institute of Finance.

This achievement clearly demonstrates the commitment of Turkmen universities to meeting international standards of higher education, strengthening their positions in the global educational space, and joining the ranks of the world’s leading universities.

The World University Rankings is one of the most authoritative global indicators of higher education success. It has been compiled and published annually since 2004 by Times Higher Education (THE) in the United Kingdom.

Universities are evaluated by THE’s international experts using a new comprehensive methodology that assesses the performance of higher education institutions based on 18 carefully calibrated indicators across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook.

The global university ranking continues to expand rapidly. The 22nd edition of THE World University Rankings 2026 includes 2,191 universities from 115 countries and territories worldwide.

Turkmen universities are actively participating in prestigious and internationally recognized rankings, including THE World University Rankings. This achievement enhances the global reputation of Turkmen higher education institutions and reflects their progress toward achieving high performance standards and advanced levels of development.
