Rice farmers in the Dashoguz velayat have successfully completed their annual harvesting quota. This year, they harvested over 35 thousand tons of rice from eight thousand one hundred hectares of rice fields. In the Saparmurat Turkmenbashy etrap, main rice producer of the region, the rice was grown and harvested by the specialised dayhan associations «S.A. Nyyazov», «27 October» and the «Ykbal Açary» Economic Society.

    The current harvest was based on high-yielding rice varieties «Nöküs-2» and «Bereket» proven in local climate conditions. The achievement of high results was facilitated by the well-organised harvesting campaign and the effective use of specialised equipment, the basis of which is high-performance combine harvesters from the «John Deere» and «CLAAS» brands. Rice harvesting is currently ongoing.

    Rice farming is one of the main agricultural sectors in the Dashoguz velayat, and the state has created all the conditions for its consistent development. Local farmers annually harvest at least 43 centners of grain per hectare.

    Thanks to government support, the region has established a full production cycle, including the procurement of high-quality seed, sowing, harvesting, and storage of grain, as well as its processing into finished products. This is successfully carried out by a modern rice milling facility, capable of supplying consumers of the country with up to 30 thousand tons of products per year that meet international standards.
