The XVIII International exhibition and scientific conference «Türkmentel – 2025» and the International conference and exhibition «International transport and transit corridors: interconnection and development – 2025» are taking place in Ashgabat from 12th to 14th of November.

Artur Andrysyak, Director of the Asian development bank (ADB) resident mission in Turkmenistan, spoke to a «GA» correspondent on the sidelines of the transport forum about the development of cooperation with Turkmen public and private entities.

«ADB is proud of its development partnership with Turkmenistan. We have been working here for 25 years, supporting the country in implementing its development programs. The Bank assists Turkmenistan in strengthening regional connectivity, developing infrastructure, and improving key institutions and human capital. During our cooperation, ADB has provided investments in the transport, energy, and healthcare sectors», Andrysyak said.

According to the representative of bank, ADB is currently working with the Government of Turkmenistan to strengthen railway infrastructure and develop human capital. Joint agreements aimed at infrastructure development were recently signed in Turkmenistan, specifically the construction of the Ashgabat secondary medical school. This is an important project, and ADB is promoting the growth of the healthcare sector, which is key to overall development of Turkmenistan, our interviewee emphasised.

The Country Director also noted strategic location of Turkmenistan at the centre of transport corridors and, in this context, announced support of ADB for the implementation of relevant projects.

«I thank the organisers for the opportunity to be a delegate to this important conference. I have been participating in it with great interest for several years. I would like to especially note that Turkmenistan occupies a strategic position at the centre of the North-South and East-West transport corridors. The country is actively investing in transport infrastructure, and the Asian development bank supports this process and is ready to continue to support Turkmenistan», – stated Andrysyak.
