The adoption of the Constitutional law «On the legal foundations of the peace and trust policy of neutral Turkmenistan» marked a milestone in the development of future activities of Turkmenistan as a subject of international relations, demonstrating the commitment and consistency of its strategic course toward achieving and maintaining lasting peace and stability. This was stated by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the Forum on peace and trust held in Ashgabat, timed to coincide with International neutrality day and the significant 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.
«I am convinced that today, in these challenging geopolitical circumstances, peace and trust are acquiring particular significance and value. An adequate assessment of these concepts, their establishment and consolidation as indisputable tenets of global politics, in itself marks a significant positive shift in understanding the modern order, a step away from a dangerous confrontational stance, toward building constructive, realistic, and balanced foundations for a global security and development architecture», – the head of state said.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that in these matters, Turkmenistan believes that this can only be achieved through joint efforts of states and international institutions on a common political, ideological, and humanistic basis, based on the UN Charter and recognised international legal norms.
