The Third Meeting of the Heads of the Parliaments of the Central Asian States and the Republic of Korea held in Tashkent

On 16 December 2025, the Third Meeting of the Heads of the Parliaments of the Central Asian States and the Republic of Korea was held in Tashkent. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.   

The meeting was attended by Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won-shik, Chairperson of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Koshanov, Deputy Chairperson of the Majlisi Namayandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Giyozoda Aziz, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan Duishankul Chotonov, as well as representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on topical issues related to the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, as well as the expansion of multilateral cooperation between the Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea.

Within the framework of plenary meetings and thematic sessions, issues concerning the deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the areas of ensuring social justice, environmental protection, mitigation of the effects of climate change, rational use of natural resources, and improvement of environmental legislation were discussed.

In addition, the participants noted that the previous meetings held in Seoul in September 2023 and in Ashgabat in October 2024 clearly demonstrated the relevance and strong demand for this format of inter-parliamentary interaction.

Following the meeting, a Joint Declaration of the Third Meeting of the Heads of the Parliaments of the Central Asian States and the Republic of Korea was adopted.
