A joint exhibition by tapestry artist Kakamyrat Baylyyev and his daughter, Altynjemal Baylyyeva, who continues the work of her father, has opened at the Museum of fine arts in the capital of Turkmenistan.
At the vernissage dedicated to the 75th anniversary of one of the founders of the school of Turkmen tapestry as an artistic genre – K. Baylyyev, iconic works by father and daughter are presented. Their works, conveying a unique style, individual technique and innovative trends, have become a benchmark and have rightfully entered the golden collection of Turkmen tapestry art.

The paintings of K. Baylyyev are distinguished by their originality, freedom of composition, vibrant colour palette, and deep understanding of the world, nature, and national character. As part of the anniversary exhibition, you can see such works as «The song of Shepherd», «Awakening», «The Potter», and many others.
The opening of the exhibition became a day of remembrance for the master. The museum was attended by his close friends, colleagues with whom he worked in his early years, fans of work of the artist, as well as numerous students from the State academy of arts of Turkmenistan.

A desire to learn, perseverance, tireless research, and the ability to notice the «miracle» in the simplest things shaped K. Baylyyev into someone who knows how to find unconventional solutions. It was with him that the modern type of tapestry, characteristic of Turkmen carpet weaving and at the same time in harmony with European culture, was born.
