On the 17th of December, the International film forum «Living history» organised with the assistance of the cinematography Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Creative union of filmmakers of Uzbekistan, concluded in Tashkent.
The event confirmed its status as one of the leading international film forums, bringing together directors, producers, and specialists from nearly 20 countries, including Russia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, China, the USA, France, and others.
The Turkmen delegation presented national film projects at the forum, which attracted the interest of the professional community. Discussions focused on approaches to understanding historical and cultural heritage, as well as opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation in film and animation. Following the discussions, memoranda were signed on expanding international partnerships and implementing joint projects using modern digital technologies.

The culmination of the forum was the ceremony of the National film award «Oltin Humo – 2025» at the Palace of national cinematography of Uzbekistan.
The feature film «Magtymguly Fragi», a joint effort between Turkmen and Uzbek filmmakers, received the highest accolade in the best film category and awards for best makeup and costumes. Director Muzaffar Erkinov noted that working on the film further strengthened their understanding of the values and spiritual affinity between the two peoples.
The film project, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet of the East, was implemented with the support of the cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan, the «Turkmenfilm» Association named after Oguzhan, and the national cinematography development Centre. The film stars leading Turkmen actors.
The success of the film at international festivals in Ashgabat, Bulgaria, Kazan, Türkiye, and London, as well as its screenings in New York, Barcelona, Izmir, and other cities, demonstrate the strong friendly ties between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
This large-scale film project became a vivid confirmation of the high level of cultural cooperation and spiritual affinity between the two countries, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding at the current stage of regional cinematography development.
