Novruz, included in UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, symbolizes the cultural and historical community of peoples, appears as the personification of good changes, friendliness and hospitality, peace and creativity. The multi-faceted exposition of the State Museum clearly reflects the original traditions of the Turkmen people, a rich palette of creativity of representatives of several generations of national fine and decorative and applied art.

The exhibition presents works by masters of painting, ceramics, glass, folk crafts. Motives of the spring transformation - mountains covered with emerald coverlets, picturesque patterns of spring primroses, and scarlet placers of poppies - are embodied in the works of V. Maykovsky, I. Dovodov, O. Mammetnurov and others. Fabulous birds from solid glass and ocean shells emphasize the festive atmosphere of the exposition. The flower theme has found its continuation in national ornaments, ancient examples of which – bizelik, saсhlik, tumar, sрelpeli egme - are presented in one of the sections of the exhibition. Festive women's dressing gowns and woven accessories are among the original exhibits carpet cloths, decorated with elaborate hand-embroidered embroidery.

Novruz is accompanied not only by traditions and ceremonies, but also by festive dishes. In the ethnographic section is a fragment of the yurt, where the hostess prepares a ritual dish from the roots of cereals and toasted flour - the seed.

The group of students of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture was among the visitors of the festive exposition. Their teacher Ogulson Charyeva noted in the conversation that future culturologists, librarians, and museum experts regularly visit the exhibition halls of the capital, where they are acquainted with the process of updating the collections, the specifics of their formation, and are attached to the educational mission of museums.
