The traditional pre − New Year event, the Christmas book fair, took place at the European Union delegation in Ashgabat. The event brought together the largest bookstores of the capital, offering guests not only a wide selection of literature (from international bestsellers to fairy tales of children) but also a festive atmosphere with classical music and refreshments.
A key element of the program was a bookcrossing zone, promoting cultural development, environmental education, and lively interaction among readers. Young visitors were treated to a meeting with the central figure of program, Santa Claus, who hosted a quiz of New Year and actively interacted with the young guests.
At the same time, creative zones were open for children, where they could draw and make crafts, and an interactive station was created for writing cherished letters with wishes to Santa Claus.
The organisers emphasised that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening international cultural dialogue and promoting reading among the population. Thus, this event, which has already become a long-standing tradition, was not simply a fair but a true celebration of friendship and unity.
