During the New Year holidays, one of the pleasant pastimes for Ashgabat residents and visitors to the capital was a performance at the «Watan» cinema and concert hall by musicians from the Rovshen Nepesov Orchestra, bringing to life melodies from popular TV series.

This time, Rovshen Nepesov handed over the stand of conductor to Eziz Jumaniyazov, and he himself acted as the host of concert.

The program of the evening opened with a medley of hits of New Year from around the world. The audience sang along enthusiastically in English, Turkmen, and Russian.

The legendary Inspector Cattani from the television series «Octopus» appears on screen, and music plays to commemorate one of the most dramatic moments of the film – the loss of his daughter. His many fans once again feel a sense of empathy for the brave police officer.

And then comes the familiar theme song to «Santa Barbara», which once drew countless viewers to their televisions. And we meet again with the main characters of this endless series − Cece, Eden, Cruz, Kelly, Mason... This series was so beloved by viewers that they began telling various stories about it, some of which the concert host shared from the stage.

The film «Brigada» is about the friendship cherished by kids in the 90s who found themselves in difficult circumstances. The music from the series, as well as the most poignant footage, bring that epoch to life.

Turkish TV series featured melodies from the films «Leyla», «Uzak Şehir», «Eşref i Ruya», and «Kara Sevda». The concert immersed the audience in an atmosphere of profound emotions captured in films from diverse nations and cultures. Ayna Bayramgeldiyeva and Nurbibi Nepesova performed the female roles with great sensitivity.

During the concert, composition student of Rovshen Nepesov, Gulgeldi Gatyyev, performed two pieces he had composed himself, «My Friend» and «Merry Dance». When the host asked to whom «My Friend» was dedicated, the young composer replied, «Piano».

The concert program concluded with another guest on stage, People's Artist of Turkmenistan and percussion virtuoso Hakberdi Allamyradov. He performed his own composition, «Awuçy Mukamy».

The audience gave a thunderous round of applause to Hakberdi Allamyradov and the musicians of the Rovshen Nepesov Orchestra for their brilliant performance of the melodies and the nostalgic memories they evoked from the screening of fragments from films they had watched at various times.
