In the coming weekend, Ashgabat’s cultural playbill offers a wide variety of events to suit every taste. This overview presents the most significant happenings not to be missed.
On January 15, the State Museum of Fine Arts opened an exhibition dedicated to the motto of the year: “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses.” The exhibition features works of art glorifying Ahal-Teke horses, which have earned worldwide fame.

On January 15 and 16, the State Drama Theatre named after Kemine of Mary velayat will hold tour performances in Ashgabat. The Mollanepes Student Theatre will host performances of the play “Muneçjim.”
On January 18, the State Russian Drama Theatre named after A. S. Pushkin will host the premiere of “A Doll’s House,” based on the work of the Norwegian writer and playwright Henrik Ibsen. The production is directed by Andrey Pavlov. The leading roles are performed by Anna Hommadova and Magtymguly Gurbanov.

The capital’s theatres will also present musical and humorous concerts, as well as comedy and drama productions for audiences.
