At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held via a digital system, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved an initiative to establish a new body aimed at stimulating foreign trade.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers N. Atagulyyev reported on steps to implement the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific, which Turkmenistan had previously joined. As part of this effort, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations studied best international practices.
The key functions of the new Interdepartmental Working Group will include fulfilling obligations arising from international trade agreements, coordinating actions with foreign partners and international organizations, and introducing mechanisms to simplify trade operations at the national level.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is consistently expanding the geography of its trade and economic relations. The head of state emphasized that the establishment of this body would be an important step toward integrating the country into the global trading system and instructed that the relevant work be initiated.
