National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Olympic village of capital. The main purpose of the visit was to check the readiness of main stadium of the country for the historic match of the 1/8 finals of the second AFC Champions League.

The focus is on the upcoming match between the domestic football club «Arkadag» and the football club «Al-Nasr» from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Less than 10 days remain until the momentous event, and preparations are in the final stretch.

Hero-Arkadag gave a number of specific instructions to the heads of relevant departments, placing particular emphasis on several areas. These include media support, ensuring that match coverage meets international standards, creating the most comfortable working conditions for foreign journalists, and organising an appropriate advertising campaign to attract fans and visitors to the capital.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasised that the upcoming game is, first and foremost, a great celebration for the entire country. Despite high sporting expectations from the Turkmen team, Hero-Arkadag noted a philosophical approach to the result. A victory would be a huge achievement, a draw would be a matter of chance, and even if our athletes lose, the match will still be an incentive for new achievements and a joyful event for the people, said the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that the Turkmen footballers will demonstrate a dignified, fair, and beautiful game that will give fans unforgettable emotions.
