Representatives of the Engineering and technology university of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han received prestigious awards as part of their participation in the World youth scientific invention and innovation competition (WYSII 2026), which was held from 29th of January to 2nd of February in Bangkok, Thailand.

Patma Igdirova, a teaching assistant in the department of chemical engineering, successfully presented at the International conference on teaching, research, management, leadership, and creative transformation (INTERACT 2026), held as part of the WYSII 2026 program.

On the sidelines of the forum, a young teacher from Turkmenistan presented her research paper, «A Study of methods for extracting biologically active compounds from Mandrake». The innovative approaches to studying the metabolism of substances contained in medicinal plants demonstrated by the author were highly praised by international experts. As a result, the scientist from Turkmenistan was awarded two top awards: a special award for innovation in education and upbringing, the «INTERACT 2026 INNOVATIVE EDUCATOR AWARD», and a gold award, the «GOLD AWARD», awarded for the significance and innovative content of scientific research.

At the WYSII 2026 competition, Mekan Rozmyradov, 3rd-year student in the faculty of chemistry and nanotechnology at the University named after Oguz han, presented his work with distinction, supervised by Patma Igdirova. The work of student on «Innovative methods for obtaining eco-friendly, highly resilient keratin bioplastic metals» was recognised by the jury and placed in the top 5 in the «Ecology and sustainable development» competition category.

For his scientific work, Mekan received a gold medal, the special highest award of the competition.

The victory of Turkmen scientists once again underscored the high status of University named after Oguz han as a powerful research base, as well as the practical significance and effectiveness of its scientific research. The success of our scientists is clear evidence of the high level of professional training of Turkmen youth, their constant readiness to conquer new heights, and strengthen authority of the country in the global scientific and academic community.

The World youth scientific invention and innovation competition (WYSII) is one of the most prestigious events in the world of science and technology, annually bringing together talented young scientists, inventors, and researchers from around the world.
