A gala reception was held in the capital of Turkmenistan to mark the national holiday of the Islamic Republic of Iran – Revolution day. The event, organised by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, government agencies, and the public, serving as further confirmation of the unbreakable bonds of friendship between the two neighbouring states.

Opening the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani emphasised the particular strength of bilateral ties. According to the diplomat, relations between Tehran and Ashgabat go far beyond formal interstate cooperation.

«Iranian-Turkmen relations go beyond geographical boundaries and are rooted in a common civilisation, history, and culture. We respect policy of Turkmenistan of permanent positive neutrality and consider it a key factor in regional stability. Relations between the two countries are of a familial nature; Iran was one of the first states to recognise the independence of Turkmenistan. We welcome constructive role of Turkmenistan in strengthening regional integration and believe that the interaction of our economies is the best factor for strengthening regional partnership and the prosperity of our countries», − the diplomat said.

On the Turkmen side, deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and minister of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov spoke, conveying warm congratulations to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the entire Iranian people.

The head of foreign policy department of Turkmenistan emphasised the dynamic development of trade and economic ties. R. Meredov particularly emphasised that 2025 was one of the most productive periods in the history of the Turkmen-Iranian dialogue, demonstrating a new level of interaction.

«Currently, interstate relations are consistently developing in various directions. Trade-economic cooperation is one of the key areas of partnership between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Overall, 2025 was one of the most productive periods in the history of Turkmen-Iranian relations», − said R. Meredov.

During the gala reception, the parties expressed confidence that traditions of good neighbourliness and mutual respect will continue to serve as the basis for the implementation of large-scale joint projects. Particular attention will be paid to strengthening regional integration and expanding humanitarian contacts.
