The first stage of the Turkmen Cup among masters of radio-controlled models of gliders took place. The experienced athletes from Ashgabat took part in the launches of electroplanes taking off with the help of a miniature electric motor with subsequent free flight and landing at a given point. They showed great skills despite the strong wind.

The aircraft models made single handedly were not the only to compete but also aircraft models from well-known companies, which increased the number of participants. However, the winner of the first stage of the Cup was a young athlete Haji Tochkus, who personally produced a radio-controlled model. In the playoff, he confidently beat the more experienced rivals. The second place was taken by the repeated winner of the past years - the master of sports Sakhat Kuliev. On the third place is Sergey Obraztsov. The winners of the first stage of the national cup were awarded with the Honorary Diplomas of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. The second stage will be held on May 13.
