The National music and drama theatre named after Magtymguly with great success hosted a concert «Symphonic pictures» performed by the State symphony orchestra conducted by the honoured artist of Turkmenistan Rasul Klychev.

From the very first number «Three wonders» from the opera «The Tale of tsar Soltan» of Rimsky-Korsakov, the hall was immersed in a magical atmosphere. The symphony featured folk motifs, the splash of waves, and the wonders that Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin lavishly decorated his work with.

The symphonic suite «Scheherazade», written by Rimsky-Korsakov under the impression of the fairy tales «One thousand and one nights», was also performed. Selbiniyaz Mulkamanova − the first violin of the orchestra, sang soulfully, on the highest note. And then the orchestra «struck out», creating an inimitably beautiful contrast of melodies, feelings and moods.

The symphonic picture of Anatoliy Lyadov «Baba-Yaga» brought elements of fun to the concert. A.Lyadov, through music, very figuratively painted a hut on chicken legs and its inhabitant.

Modest Mussorgskiy wrote a series of piano pieces under the general title «Pictures from the exhibition» in memory of his friend, the artist Viktor Hartman. The work conveys charismatic portraits, lyrical landscapes, folk festivals and fairs presented at the exhibition by the artist.

The audience applauded and thanked the musicians for their masterful performance of all the works. For an encore, the orchestra played a hopak dance tune from «Pictures from the exhibition».

To the applause of the audience, Ivan Volinkin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan, took the stage, congratulated Rasul Klychev for a successful concert and presented a bouquet of flowers.
