Representatives of financial universities in Turkmenistan took part in a regional economic forum in Almaty

From the 25th to 26th of February, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Regional centre for capacity development for the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia held a conference titled «Directions of economic policy in the Caucasus and Central Asia and regional stability» in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Turkmenistan was represented at the forum by Abdykerim Muhanov, head of the finance department at the Turkmen state institute of economics and management, and Ruslan Jumayev, head of the economic theory department at the Turkmen state institute of finance.

In their speeches, Turkmen delegates discussed ongoing economic reforms of the country, the implementation of fiscal policy, the dynamic growth of macroeconomic indicators, the effective functioning of the financial and monetary system, and the steady improvement in the quality of life and standard of living of the population of Turkmenistan.

The two-day regional conference included 8 sections, during which participants discussed the role and objectives of the International monetary fund (IMF), monetary policy and deflation management formats, fiscal policy mechanisms, structural reforms for diversification and economic growth, labour market development, as well as a number of other significant topics.

The conference became an effective platform for professional development, networking, discussions, the exchange of valuable knowledge and experience between specialists, and the joint search for solutions to achieve sustainable development and ensure economic stability in the regions.
