On February 26, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the joint meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the London Stock Exchange Julia Ann Hoggett and the Economic Secretary to the UK Treasury Lucy Rigby. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.   

During the meeting, the Turkmen side noted London’s importance as a leading global financial center shaping global investment flows. The commitment to strengthening practical economic cooperation with British partners and further attracting of long-term capital for infrastructure and energy projects was expressed.

Turkmenistan places particular importance on developing practical economic cooperation with the United Kingdom. Currently, approximately 30 enterprises with British capital are registered in the country, operating in construction, industry, trade, and services.

Positive dynamics in trade and economic ties were also noted. The importance of the Turkmenistan-UK Trade and Industry Council as a key mechanism for coordinating cooperation was emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side expressed interest in expanding cooperation in sustainable finance, banking, auditing, insurance, and digital solutions.
