Three years later, 20-year-old FIDE master Lala Shohradova regained the chess crown of women of Turkmenistan. The student of the International oil and gas University named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev achieved this success by winning the women's major league tournament held in Ashgabat for ten days.

The championship title was contested in two rounds by the 8 strongest female chess players. Lala Shohradova (2109 rating) confidently conducted the tournament and confirmed her status as the leader of the country's women's chess. In 14 games, she scored 11.5 points and was 3.5 points ahead of last year's national champion, 10th grade student of specialised secondary school №. 41 in Turkmenabat, Jahan Rejepova (rating – 2051). Mahri Agamyradova, a 16-year-old student of the 10th grade of the 27th secondary school of Turkmenabat, rounded out the top three with a score of 7.5 points (rating – 1926).

Lala Shohradova started playing chess at the age of 5. And already at the age of 9 she became the world champion among schoolgirls of her age at the world championship in Thailand. At the age of 12, she made her debut as a member of the Turkmenistan national team at the 2018 World Chess Olympiad in Batumi. At the age of 14, she won the national title among girls under 16. In November 2022, Lala became the champion of Turkmenistan in rapid (fast game), and in February 2023 she was awarded this title for the first time in classical chess among women. And now she has become a two-time champion of Turkmenistan.

During her school years in Turkmenabat, Lala Shohradova studied chess with coach Gulhan Gurbandurdyyeva, and is currently improving her skills in Ashgabat under the guidance of honoured coach of Turkmenistan Serdar Annaberdyev.

According to the results of the 2026 national Championship, all the prize-winners, as well as Ogulsuray Bayrambayeva, a 4th-year student of the Turkmen state institute of physical education and sports (rating - 1906), who took 4th place with 7 points, were eligible to play in the women's national team of Turkmenistan at the 46th World chess olympiad in Samarkand this September (Uzbekistan). Besides them, according to the highest indicator of the FIDE rating, Lala's sister, Leyla Shohradova, a student of the faculty of language training at the International oil and gas University named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev (rating – 2183), joined the national team, who this year could afford to compete in the open category among men.

Special attention should be paid to the performance in the championship of Dilber Hupbayeva, a 12-year-old student of the 6th grade of secondary school № 7 in Dashoguz (rating – 1916), who scored 6.5 points and was one step away from her goal of getting into the women's national team. The young chess player demonstrated a truly mature and confident game, forcing the fight on more experienced opponents.
