On March 4, 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and the Vice Minister for Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Lim Sang-woo. During the meeting, the diplomats noted the high dynamics of development in Turkmen-Korean relations across political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Special attention was paid to the preparations for upcoming visits and events at the highest and high levels. In this context, they highlighted the significance of holding Turkmen-Korean political and consular consultations, which are viewed as an effective tool for the systematic discussion of the entire range of bilateral issues.

The parties exchanged views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda. Specifically, they touched upon the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of consolidating efforts to ensure peace, security, and stability in the region.

Taking the opportunity, Lim Sang-woo expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for its assistance in transit the citizens of the Republic of Korea from Iran.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand the multifaceted dialogue between the two countries.
