«Shagadam» from Turkmenbashy and «Ahal» have reached the semi-finals of the 2026 Turkmenistan football Federation Cup, which is currently underway in Ashgabat. This was determined based on the results of the final matches in Group «A».

In the first of them, playing most of the match in the majority, Ahal unexpectedly lost to Nebichi from Balkanabat with a score of 1:2. The scoring was opened in the 26^th minute by «Ahal» player Ashyr Jumadurdyyev, who scored an own goal. In the 35^th minute, the match referee N. Garajayev left the Balkan team short-handed, sending off Vezirgeldi Ilyasov and awarding a penalty kick against them. A minute later, Mahtymberdi Berenov restored the balance – 1:1, converting an 11-metre penalty kick.

After the break, in the 56^th minute, Bayramgeldi Nurlyyev scored the second goal against «Ahal», which turned out to be the winning one for «Nebitchi».

In another match, «Shagadam» won against the «Kopetdag» of the capital – 1:0. The decisive goal was scored in the 31^st minute by Didar Nazjanov. Thanks to this victory, «Shagadam» gained 7 points and advanced to the semi-finals from first place. Despite the defeat from «Nebitchi», «Ahal» remained in second place in the tournament table with 4 points, which allowed the team of the Main directorate of «Turkmennebitonumleri» to reach the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, «Ahal» will face «Arkadag», which took first place in Group «B» ahead of schedule. The semi-final opponent of «Shagadam» will be determined based on the results of the final matches in Group «B». The first to take to the central field of the multifunctional stadium «Ashgabat» will be «Arkadag» and «Merv», and then «Ashgabat» and the youth team of Turkmenistan (under 20) will meet in a face-to-face match. The final match will most likely determine the final semi-finalist of the tournament. «Ashgabat», which is two points ahead of the Turkmenistan U20 team before the final round, will only need a draw to advance to the semi-finals.

The semi-final matches will take place on the 10^th of March. The winner of the 2026 Turkmenistan football Federation Cup will be announced on the 12^th of March.
