A significant event took place in the sporting life of the capital: celebrations dedicated to AFC Women’s Football Day 2026 were held at the football field of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The large-scale sporting celebration, which was also timed to coincide with International Women's Day on March 8, was organized by the Football Federation of Turkmenistan. The main focus of the event was to promote physical culture and sports among women, as well as to encourage the younger generation’s interest in pursuing football professionally.

A distinctive feature of this year’s festival was its broad outreach and inclusiveness. About 200 young female sports enthusiasts took part in the event and had the unique opportunity to step onto the field together with players from the Turkmenistan women's national football team. Professional footballers shared their experience with the youth, demonstrating their skills during various sporting competitions and special exercises.

The festival program included numerous technical activities aimed at testing ball control skills, coordination, and teamwork. The festive atmosphere fostered not only sporting excitement but also strengthened friendly ties among participants from different educational institutions across the city.

The successful organization of the event was the result of coordinated cooperation between the relevant institutions. Leaders of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan took part in the official award ceremony.

At the conclusion of the festival, outstanding participants received commemorative gifts on behalf of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, the Ashgabat City Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, and the Main Department of Education of Ashgabat.
