In our independent and permanently neutral Motherland, large-scale work is being carried out to study, preserve, and pass on to future generations the heritage of our ancestors and the sacred traditions of the Turkmen people.

National holidays that have reached us through the centuries resonate with the spirit of the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. Numerous events held across the country on a grand scale, aimed at revealing their meaning and significance, complement our glorious celebrations.

One of the ancient holidays that has been revered for centuries by the peoples of Central Asia is Nowruz. As in all parts of Turkmenistan, events dedicated to this holiday are becoming increasingly widespread in the Lebap velayat. One such celebration was organized jointly by the Museum of History and Local Lore of the velayat and the Lebap Velayat Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.

The event opened with the conference “Nowruz – the Holiday of Peace and Friendship,” which brought together workers of the education and culture sectors, representatives of the older generation, students, and activists of the Youth Organization.

As the speakers emphasized, the Nowruz holiday will become a true adornment of the year “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses.” Special attention was given to its important role in the life of the Turkmen people. It was particularly noted that the noble initiatives of Hero-Arkadag aimed at preserving the traditions of the ancestors are now being consistently continued under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar.

Afterwards, those present took part in the opening ceremony of an exhibition dedicated to the National Spring Holiday. The large-scale exposition featured items of decorative and applied arts reflecting the rich heritage of the Turkmen people, national dishes presented in the well-known work “Bereketli türkmen saçagy”, as well as paintings by artists celebrating the beauty of spring. The exhibition made a strong impression on visitors. The festive exhibition is currently continuing its work.
