Turkmen chess players showed decent results at the IV International «Women’s Chess Championship» tournament, which concluded in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.

The competition brought together representatives from nine countries – Austria, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – who competed according to the Swiss system in three qualification groups: «Masters» (10 participants), «Challengers» (41 participants) and «Futures» (62 participants). The time control was set at 60 minutes per game with an increment of 30 seconds per move.
Turkmenistan was represented by a number of promising chess players who put up serious competition to their opponents.

In the second strongest group, «Challengers» (category B), Mahri Agamyradova, a student of Turkmenabat sports school №13, took 1st place among girls under 16, showing a stable and confident game throughout the tournament.
In the third-strongest group, «Futures» (category C), Enesh Arazmedova, a representative of the Ashgabat specialised chess and checkers school, showed the 5th result, demonstrating a high level of preparation and competitiveness. And Gulmira Seyilhanova, an 11th-grade student of Turkmenabat secondary school № 41 and a student of the local sports school №13, finished the tournament in 7th place out of 62 participants.
The successful performance of the Turkmen chess players in this tournament confirms the progressive development of women's chess in Turkmenistan and the high potential of young athletes.
