The noble initiatives of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov aimed at transforming our country into a flourishing land and enhancing the beauty of Turkmenistan’s picturesque nature are widely supported by compatriots.

The signing by the head of state, at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, of a Decree to hold a nationwide tree-planting campaign on March 21, 2026, is evidence of the large-scale and consistent work carried out at the state level to protect the environment and ensure ecological well-being.

The constructive initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag, are embraced and implemented with a strong sense of patriotism in the eastern region of the country. As throughout the independent Homeland, thousands of saplings of fruit, coniferous, ornamental trees and grapevines are planted each year in the Lebap velayat along with the care of existing greenery. This year as well, extensive preparations are underway to ensure the nationwide campaign is conducted at a high level.

The main event of the campaign in the velayat will take place on a 10-hectare site located on the eastern side of the Turkmenabat–Mary highway, near the velayat multi-purpose market. It is planned to plant 4,000 coniferous saplings there. More than 52,000 people are expected to participate in the campaign across the region, including representatives of the older generation, people from various professions, and students.

During the large-scale event, which will embody unity, devotion to the Homeland, and deep love for Turkmen nature, a total of 44,700 saplings of fruit, coniferous, ornamental trees and grapevines—including mulberry trees—will be planted. Maintenance work will also be carried out on previously planted trees. The saplings will be supplied by velayat and etrap forestry enterprises, daikhan associations, and institutions and enterprises of the etraps.

The fact that the nationwide tree-planting campaign coincides with the National Spring Holiday – International Nowruz Day, celebrated in the country with special enthusiasm, highlights the continuity of ancestral traditions in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. Exhibitions of various types of saplings and flowers, along with performances by cultural figures and artists, will add a festive atmosphere to this large-scale event.
