As part of the implementation of the strategy for the development of the oil and gas industry, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree aimed at significantly increasing natural gas production. The document regulates the commencement of the implementation of the 4th phase of development of the supergiant «Galkynyş» field.
According to the Resolution, the State concern «Türkmengaz» will enter into a contract with the Chinese company «CNPC Amudarya Petroleum Company Ltd.». The project includes the design and turnkey construction of a facility for the treatment of 10 billion cubic metres of commercial gas per year and production wells sufficient to treat the same volume of commercial gas.
This measure will be an important step in strengthening energy capacity of the state and expanding international cooperation in the gas sector.
