In our independent Motherland, it has become a good tradition to hold creative meetings and musical celebrations with the participation of renowned writers and figures of the arts, who, in a unified spirit with the people of Turkmenistan, glorify the country’s grand achievements made possible by the efforts of the Hero Arkadag and the Arkadagly Hero Serdar.

These events, reflecting the rapid pace of the nation’s development and the unique beauty of the Turkmen world, fill the spiritual life of the modern era with profound meaning. A vivid confirmation of this is the cultural events organized in the Lebap velayat under the motto “Independent Turkmenistan moves forward with the swiftness of a steed,” within which central attention was given to celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of the birth of the People’s Writer of Turkmenistan, Ovlyaguly Movlamov, and the outstanding poet Almaz Seyitmuratov.

The jubilee evening in honor of these masters of the pen—whose deep and sincere works consistently resonate warmly in the hearts of readers—was held at the new, modern House of Culture in the city of Turkmenabat. Alongside well-known cultural figures and distinguished artists, the event was attended by colleagues and close relatives of the honorees. This serves as a clear embodiment of the high respect accorded in our country to creators who have devoted their lives to literature. The program opened with a touching video dedicated to the lives and works of the writers, allowing those present to immerse themselves in cherished memories and connect with the history of their creative endeavors.

During the event, speeches were delivered by Honored Journalist of Turkmenistan Dovran Agalyev, Honored Cultural Worker of Turkmenistan Akmyrat Rejepov, as well as laureates of the prestigious Presidential competition “Altyn Asyr”—writer Akmyrat Abdullaev and poet Esen Charyev. Particular emphasis was placed on the enduring value of the literary legacy of the honorees. Speakers noted that such notable works by O. Movlamov as the novellas “Daň sazy,” “Borç,” “Ýekäniň çaňy,” “Kesapat,” and the historical narrative “Pygan,” as well as the poetry collections of A. Seyitmyradov—“Arzuwym sensiň,” “Ak sähere barýaryn”—and his publications in well-known anthologies, rightfully belong to the golden treasury of national literature. These works, imbued with ideals of humanism, love for the homeland, and the subtle philosophy of Eastern classical thought, continue to serve as moral guidance for new generations.

A particularly emotional atmosphere was created by the recollections of relatives and colleagues, who warmly spoke about the personal qualities of the writers—their exceptional modesty, simplicity, and dedication to their craft. Musical performances and lively humorous sketches by Honored Artists of the country Chynar Jumayeva and Myrat Orazmuhammedov, as well as “Altyn Asyr” laureate Azat Didarov, harmoniously complemented the program, turning the evening into a true celebration of national art.

Similar inspiring gatherings, also held in the Danev etrap and in the city of Sakar in the Sayat etrap, once again confirmed the inseparable connection of times and the continuity of generations within the cultural space of Turkmenistan.
