The III International Mathematical Olympiad among schoolchildren concluded in Ashgabat, with the closing ceremony taking place at Turkmen state university named after Magtymguly.
58 schoolchildren from our country and 112 schoolchildren from 10 foreign countries, including Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, China, Belarus, Türkiye, Iran, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan, competed in this large-scale international competition.
Following the Olympiad, Turkmen schoolchildren demonstrated high results, winning the largest number of awards – a total of 29 medals: 6 gold, 10 silver, and 13 bronze.
In this way, students from Turkmenistan took first place in terms of the number of medals collected. Second place with 16 medals was taken by schoolchildren from Uzbekistan. Participants from Tajikistan took third place among the Olympiad leaders, winning 15 medals.
In a celebratory atmosphere, talented mathematics experts were awarded well-deserved medals and diplomas, as well as copies of the book by the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan, «Youth – the support of the Motherland».
The closing ceremony featured speeches from representatives of education sector of our country, the chairman of the international Olympiad jury, foreign and Turkmen schoolchildren, and their teachers.
As noted, the Ashgabat Olympiad once again proved a successful and effective platform for identifying, developing, and supporting young talent from around the world, stimulating the younger generation's active interest in science and creativity.
It was proudly emphasised that the holding of the Olympiad was a clear demonstration of the advancement of the national education system to a qualitatively new level of development.
Participants expressed deep appreciation and sincere gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for creating ample opportunities for holding such high-level events, excellent conditions for the comprehensive development of the younger generation, and the expansion of international youth cooperation.
Foreign delegates sent words of gratitude to the Turkmen side for the warm welcome and excellent organisation of the event. It was noted that visiting hospitable Turkmenistan gave them unforgettable impressions and vivid emotions.
The III International Mathematical Olympiad for schoolchildren became a significant event that strengthened friendly relations and cooperation in science and education between countries in the glorious year of 2026, the 35th anniversary of sacred independence of Turkmenistan.
At the end of the ceremony, a musical concert prepared by creative groups from the Ministry of culture of Turkmenistan was held for the participants of the III International Mathematical Olympiad.
