During the ceremony marking the launch of the fourth phase of development of the giant «Galkynyş» gas field, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, emphasised that the implementation of these initiatives not only meets the national interests of Ashgabat and Beijing, but also contributes to the sustainable development of the entire Central Asian region.

As part of this stage, work was officially launched to drill new production wells and construct a modern commercial gas treatment facility. The design capacity of the new industrial facility will be 10 billion cubic metres of gas per year.

Speaking to the ceremony participants, Hero-Arkadag noted the special significance of the Turkmenistan-China energy dialogue and outlined the main points.

«I would like to emphasise that there are great prospects for further expansion of interstate cooperation. Their effective practical implementation fully meets not only the interests of both states, but also the development goals of all of Central Asia. It is based on this position that our country sees China as a strategic partner, including in the oil and gas sector», − said the National Leader of the Turkmen People.

The «Galkynyş» field is one of the largest in the world and is the foundation of the energy strategy of Turkmenistan, which aims to diversify export routes and strengthen global energy security.
