At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on April 18, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution on the creation of the state enterprise “Galkynyşgaz” within the structure of the State Concern “Türkmengaz.”
The establishment of this specialized enterprise is driven by the need to oversee the implementation of major investment projects in the oil and gas sector. The responsibilities of “Galkynyşgaz” will include coordinating work with foreign contractors, monitoring the construction of facilities, and managing and operating new capacities after they are commissioned.
The foundation for the new entity’s operations will be a contract with the Chinese company “CNPC Amudarya Petroleum Company Ltd.” This agreement provides for the design and construction of a gas processing facility with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of marketable gas per year, as well as the drilling and development of the necessary production wells to ensure these output volumes.
As Deputy Prime Minister G. Agajanov reported, the creation of the enterprise will enable more effective implementation of advanced technologies at the “Galkynyş” field.
The head of state emphasized that the successful fulfillment of tasks in the fuel and energy complex directly affects the country’s economic strength, and instructed that all stages of the project be executed flawlessly.
