An important stage has started for silkworm breeders in the northern region of the country. This year, they intend to continue their successful labor traditions and produce 500 tons of valuable raw material for the domestic textile industry.

It is expected that the largest cocoon producers in the Dashoguz velayat will be the silkworm breeders of the Shavat etrap, whose contractual supply obligations amount to 184 tons, and the Garashsyzlyk etrap, where 79 tons of cocoons are planned to be produced this year.

The start of the season was preceded by thorough preparations, including measures to ensure the efficient operation of existing incubators for activating silkworm eggs. All necessary steps were taken in a timely manner to supply producers with sufficient quantities of high-quality silkworm eggs. Considerable attention was also given to creating the proper conditions for rearing the larvae.

Work on concluding contracts with producers was also carried out in an organized manner. For the successful implementation of this important campaign, more than seven thousand contracts have been signed with tenants alone. A strong support for silkworm breeders in achieving a rich harvest will be the availability of an extensive feed base in the region, as well as the use of modern scientific recommendations.
