Turkmen and Italian universities signed a cooperation agreement

On the 22nd of April, Turkmen state university named after Magtymguly and the Italian Gabriele d'Annunzio University of Chieti and Pescara held a joint online conference dedicated to deepening bilateral cooperation in science and education.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the leadership and faculty of the Turkmen and Italian universities.

During the conference, the parties discussed future prospects and priority areas of cooperation in the field of higher professional education, and expressed mutual interest and readiness to develop and deepen their partnership.

On the sidelines of the conference, a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement was held between Turkmen state university named after Magtymguly and the Italian University of G. d'Annunzio.

The document signed by the parties laid a solid foundation for further joint efforts to expand Turkmen-Italian humanitarian ties and the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.

The agreement provides for joint work to improve the qualifications and train highly qualified specialists, including the exchange of teachers and students, the exchange of experience in improving teaching methods, the organisation of advanced training courses for students with the participation of professors and teachers from both universities, the conduct of joint scientific research, and mutual participation in international events held at universities.

The meeting participants emphasised the productive nature of bilateral relations, in particular the active and well-established interaction between the Turkmen university and higher education institutions and research institutes in Italy. It was noted that educational events are regularly organised with the support of the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan.

Italian language teachers and students from the faculty of Italian language and literature at the TSU named after Magtymguly annually visit universities in their friendly country to improve their qualifications, study best practices in higher education, science, and implement innovative technologies in teaching.

The Gabriele d'Annunzio University in Chieti and Pescara is one of the leading partners of Turkmen universities and is one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Italy. The internationally recognised university has deservedly earned its status as a centre of scientific research of global significance in such fields as history, geology, engineering, architecture, medicine, and psychology.Of particular note is the extensive research carried out by the University of Chieti-Pescara in collaboration with Central Asian universities in the fields of humanities – archaeology, cultural heritage and contemporary history.

At the conclusion of this significant conference, the parties expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of both countries for creating broad opportunities and for their efforts to expand international scientific and educational cooperation, promote joint scientific initiatives and projects, and foster innovative development of higher professional education.
