During his speech at the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of implementing “green” development principles and modern environmental standards across all sectors of the economy.

The head of state highlighted the need to intensify regional dialogue to ensure sustainable growth for the countries of Central Asia.

To enhance the effectiveness of joint efforts, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed establishing a clear mechanism for advancing environmental initiatives.

According to the proposed approach, all initiatives should undergo preliminary discussion and refinement at the level of expert meetings and conferences. The convening of ministerial meetings and the inclusion of issues on the agenda of Summits should take place only after a high degree of agreement on documents has been reached and a common vision on specific projects has been developed.
