A ‘round-table’ meeting “The role of political parties in the development of the state and civil society” took place in the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan. The meeting brought together the representatives of the national Parliament, the Central Election Committee, and the democratic and agrarian political parties and the party of the industrialist and manufacturers.
The main goal of the meeting is to share the views on the role of political parties in strengthening the civil society and improving all spheres of state life in the context of the complex programmes of the country development.
Mejlis deputy, member of the Parliamentary committee on the protection of human rights and freedoms, Bayly Seyilov underlined the importance of the Law of Turkmenistan “On Political Parties”, which was adopted in 2012. The emphasis was placed on the key articles of the law that secure the equal rights and opportunities for the citizens to form political parties and take part in their activity.
Secretary of the Central Election Committee, Amangeldy Gandymov made the interactive presentation on the forms and ways of the political parties participation in the elections in compliance with the Electoral code of Turkmenistan that regulates the procedural and institutional aspects of the preparations and organization of the Presidential elections in Turkmenistan, the election of Mejlis deputies, the members of Halk Maslahaty, Gengseh and referenda.
Speaking during the meeting, Suleyman Suleymanov, the Chairman of the Ashgabat Committee of the Democratic Party, deputy of the Parliament emphasized that the goals and tasks of the parties, presented in their charters and programs, were aimed at improving the political culture of the society and interpreting the civic position. The key areas of the activity of the parties are the wide representation in the public and local authorities.
Oguljeren Kazakova, the Chairperson of the Ahal Committee of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, spoke about the role of the small and medium-sized businesses in strengthening the social and economic potential and the socio-political development of the country. One of the goals of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan is to assist Turkmen entrepreneurs in creating the efficient production and market structures, a network of technology parks, business incubators, innovation centers.
The presentation dedicated to the work of the velayat and etrap sectors of the agrarian party on the implementation of the state programme of development of the agricultural industry finished the meeting.
The Academy of Civil Service jointly with the Central Council of the Youth Organisation are planning to prepare and organize the conference dedicated to the key areas of the state youth affairs.
