Representatives of Turkmen universities successfully participated in the 2nd Global Sustainable Innovation Competition (GSIC 2026), which was held from the 17th to 19th of April in Denpasar, Bali Province, Indonesia.

Talented young scientists, teachers, and specialists from 12 countries took part in the prestigious international scientific review.

Our country was represented at the competition by teams from the Turkmen agricultural university named after S.A. Nyyazov and the State medical university of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryyev.

The first group included Meretmuhammet Hojanepesov, a lecturer in the Department of information systems and digital technologies, Yaran Hudayberdiev, a first-year student of master in the economics and management of agriculture program, and Batyr Hudayberdiyev, a second-year student in the «Information systems and technologies (agriculture)» program.

The national team successfully competed with the research project «Design and optimisation of an autonomous solar distillation system for arid regions». A scientific project aimed at solving environmental protection problems received high praise from the jury of an international competition.

A team of fourth-year students from the Turkmen medical university excelled in the competition, under the guidance of a lecturer from the department of medical ecology and hygiene, they presented their research project entitled «Ways to solve the environmental problems of the Aral sea». The project by Turkmen scientists was highly praised by international experts and jury members for its innovation and practical significance.

Following the results of the international competition, both of our teams, representing the agricultural and medical universities of Turkmenistan, won an honourable second place and were awarded the diplomas of the winner and silver medals.

The achievements of young Turkmen scientists at this prestigious international competition, amidst highly competitive conditions, are a clear indication of the dynamic development of science and education in the country, a fruitful result of ongoing state support for scientific activity, youth initiatives, and their interest in innovation, research, and development.
