An exhibition in the temporary exhibition hall of the Dashoguz velayat museum of local lore is dedicated to preserving the historical memory of the heroism of Turkmen soldiers on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, and the selfless work of the inhabitants of our country in the rear. According to tradition, the exhibition was organised by the staff of the permanent thematic branch of the «Şöhrat» museum.
The exhibition features dozens of items, including personal belongings, documents, photographs, musical instruments and wartime utensils, as well as paintings, sculptures, and more.

Visitors can see the awards of veterans, various copies of documents, letters of soldiers, photographs, and editions of the book «Hatyra», including a volume dedicated to the Turkmen heroes from the Dashoguz velayat who participated in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945).
The exhibition also includes sculptural busts of Heroes of the Soviet Union Saparmet Hojayev, Annagylych Atayev, Jumagaly Kaldykarayev, and Jumanyyaz Hudaybergenov.

The exhibits of exhibition seem to immerse visitors in the atmosphere of the war years. Particularly impressive are the photographs, which serve as a kind of documentary chronicle, testifying to the courage and resilience of our compatriots during those difficult times.
During the war, about 30 thousand residents of the Dashoguz velayat went to the front. Of these, more than 8 thousand soldiers did not return from the battlefield, having died or gone missing.

These days, various social and cultural events are taking place in the northern region of the country, designed to express high respect for the heroism of our compatriots. Like the current exhibition, they help preserve the memory of the heroism of our people, who demonstrated courage and fortitude, hard work and unity, and made a worthy contribution to the Great Victory.
