From May 1 to May 10, 2026, Turkmen specialists took part as experts in the creative forum “International Black Sea Theatre Festival. State Theatres – Trabzon-26,” organized by the General Directorate of State Theatres of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye in the city of Trabzon.
The International Theatre Festival in Trabzon is known as one of the world’s prestigious celebrations of the performing arts. It is held annually, and this year marked its 26th edition. Dozens of renowned theatres from different continents participated in the festival. As part of the International Black Sea Theatre Festival, 15 theatrical productions by companies from various countries, 7 puppet performances for children, 3 exhibitions, 8 displays of film and stage costumes, and 2 conferences involving theatre specialists were presented.
As members of the international expert group, Turkmen specialists evaluated the quality of theatrical productions and took part in discussions, master classes, and exchanges of experience among actors and directors.
The presentations by the Turkmen specialists about the theatres and circuses built in the country over the 35 years of sacred independence, as well as about cultural facilities that are currently being equipped with modern technologies thanks to the tireless efforts of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, aroused particular interest among the festival participants.
In addition, video materials were shown highlighting the content of performances and circus shows staged in the theatres and circuses of Turkmenistan, as well as the prestigious victories achieved by Turkmen artists at international festivals.
Participants in the creative meetings included well-known representatives of the global theatre and film industries, cultural and artistic figures, playwrights, writers, historians, cultural scholars, poets, and others. It was noted that the consistent support provided by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the development of national art, as well as the work being carried out to strengthen cultural ties with countries around the world, serves as an exemplary model. Video materials were also presented about the opportunities created at the A. Gulmammedov State Drama Theatre in the city of Arkadag.
Within the framework of the International Theatre Festival, meetings were held between the Turkmen delegation and representatives of the General Directorate of State Theatres of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, as well as theatre directors, during which issues related to the development of cooperation between theatres and the exchange of experience in organizing international theatre festivals were discussed.
For their active participation in the creative forum “International Black Sea Theatre Festival. State Theatres – Trabzon-26,” the Turkmen specialists were awarded the festival cup and Letters of Appreciation for their contribution to the development of international cooperation in the field of theatre arts.
