It has been 150 years since the death of Italian composer Gioachino Rossini, who was the brightest representative of opera art and made great influence on the development of European musical culture of XIX century. Joint concert organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and Italian diplomatic mission in Ashgabat was a tribute to his memory.

The programme of cultural event held in Magtumguly Music and Drama Theatre included the fragments from the best operas of Rossini performed by maestros of National vocal school accompanied by the State Symphonic Orchestra directed by Rasul Klychev.

Participation of famous Italian conductor Danielle Adjiman and opera diva Sandra Buongracio who presented their art for the second time in Ashgabat was good present for the lovers and connoisseurs of classic music.

The concert programme was opened by lively and rich Overture to the most famous opera by Rossini The Barber of Seville performed by symphonic orchestra of the country conducted by Professor of Milano’s Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory Danielle Adjiman. The first part of the concert included lyrical arias of this opera outstandingly performed by tenor Nury Nuriyev (cavatina of Almaviva), People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, golden baritone Atageldy Garyagfiyev (cavatina of Figaro), excellent soprano Janna Sayan (cavatina of Rosina) as well as the duet of Figaro and Rosalina performed by Janna Sayan and Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan baritone Hasan Jumayev. The first part of the concert was finished by the Overture to opera The Thieving Magpie – the famous prelude to rare composition of the author.

The second part of the concert, which was graced by plastic and tonally rich vocal of Professor of Luisa D'Annunzio Conservatory of Pescara Sandra Buongracio, was dedicated to Opera e Italian Girl in Algiers. Deep and expressive mezzo-soprano singer performed two arias of Isabella and the duet of Isabella and Taddeo with baritone Amangeldy Amanov.

The programme of the event was finished by ceremonial sounds of Overture to William Tell and emotional terzetto from The Barber of Seville. Lyrical expressiveness of the compositions of genius Rossini, coloratura passages and cantilenas, expressive and dimensional sound of musical instruments made the hearts of the audience beat as one with every musical phrase and inspired plastic of the conductor’s language. High performance skill of the vocalists and musicians directed by Danielle Adjiman was met with the storm of applause and various bright emotions.
