A solemn welcoming ceremony for the dry cargo vessel “Gadamly” - the first ship of its kind built in Turkmenistan - was held at the Baku International Sea Trade Port. The arrival of the new Turkmen vessel in Azerbaijan became an important symbol of the further strengthening of transport and logistics cooperation between the two brotherly countries and the development of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Representatives of the transport and logistics sectors of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, heads of relevant institutions, and official representatives of both countries took part in the ceremony.
During the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Gurbanmammet Elyasov noted that the commissioning of the dry cargo vessel “Gadamly” serves as clear evidence of the successful development of Turkmenistan’s shipbuilding industry under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan. It was emphasized that the project reflects the country’s growing industrial and transport potential and contributes to strengthening trade and economic ties in the Caspian region.
Welcoming speeches were also delivered by the Director of the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways, CJSC, who highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between the transport structures of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. They also stressed the strategic importance of the Caspian region as a key link in the East–West international transport corridors.
The participants of the ceremony expressed confidence that the launch of the “Gadamly” vessel will provide additional impetus for the development of maritime transportation, the strengthening of partnership relations, and the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
