In accordance with the Action Plan for Combating Tobacco Smoking, various events are being organized in Turkmenistan from May 1 to May 31, 2026. Among them was an informational and educational campaign held at the Center for Free Creativity, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among university students.
The event was attended by deputies of the Mejlis, representatives of the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General’s Office, relevant departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including specialists in traffic supervision and criminal investigation, as well as leaders of the country’s Democratic Party, the National Trade Union Center, the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, and medical experts from the Ashgabat City Center for the Prevention of Alcoholism, Drug Addiction, and Mental Disorders.

The organizers of the meeting focused students’ attention on the dangers of harmful habits and the importance of engaging in physical culture, as well as promoting spiritual values and national traditions among young people. In addition, experts discussed in detail issues related to crime prevention and strict observance of traffic regulations. During the discussion, the speakers also addressed current topics concerning the development of a culture of responsible use of internet resources.
As the speakers emphasized in their presentations, the health of the nation and the harmonious development of youth are key factors in the country’s successful socio-economic progress. Participants also discussed in detail the legislative measures being implemented by the state to protect the rights of young people and support young families, noting that Turkmenistan has created all opportunities for obtaining a modern education and realizing the intellectual potential of its citizens.

This was followed by a question-and-answer session with experts. Participants thanked representatives of law enforcement agencies and public organizations for their informative presentations and confirmed the high importance of regular educational outreach work.
At the conclusion of the event, the participants expressed deep gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for their tireless care for the happy life of the people and for creating all conditions necessary for the healthy development of the younger generation.
