The velayat stage of the “Çalsana, bagşy!” competition took place at the Balkan Velayat State Drama Theatre named after Great Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi. The creative contest, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the sacred Independence of the Motherland and held within the framework of the state competition of the President of Turkmenistan “Türkmeniň Altyn asyry,” provided many memorable moments for lovers of folk art. The final round featured young bagshys and musicians who had previously demonstrated high artistic skill during preliminary competitions in the etraps and cities of the velayat.

Performing folk destans, folklore works, and compositions by renowned composer-melodists, the participants fully revealed their talents before the audience and the demanding jury. Each performance was accompanied by prolonged applause. In assigning scores, the jury took into account performance mastery, stage culture, and the artistic expressiveness of the acts.

By decision of the judging panel, two performers and two musicians among participants aged 18 to 35 were declared winners. The right to represent the region at the national stage of the “Çalsana, bagşy!” competition was earned by representatives of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory. In the “bagshy” category, the best performers were second-year student Guychberdi Gulov and fifth-year student Guljemal Chakanova, while among the musicians the winner was third-year student Ovezgeldi Gutlyyev. Also among the winners was fourth-year student Gulovser Nurtaganova from the Balkan Velayat Specialized School of Arts.

A bright and unforgettable conclusion to the competition was the ceremonial presentation of certificates of honor and commemorative gifts to the winners.
