These days, the regional stages of the folk theatre competition «Şadyýan şahandazlar» are taking place in the regions of Turkmenistan. In the Balkan velayat, this round of the creative competition took place at the Great state drama theatre named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashy.

The main goal of the competition, announced by the Ministry of culture of Turkmenistan jointly with the National centre of trade unions of the country, is to discover new talents and take national culture and art to new heights. The creative review was also intended to improve the quality and entertainment value of performances and to encourage actors, directors, and participants to improve their professionalism.

The competition, which took place in a lively atmosphere, saw participants showcase their best acting skills, depending on the performance conditions. The performances of the actors were met with interest by the audience and were accompanied by applause. During the review, the performance of humorous stage works vividly expressed the original national characteristics of the Turkmen people, their love of life, openness, wit and eloquence.

According to the decision of the jury, the Grand-prix of the competition was awarded to the folk theatre group of the village of «Janahyr» of the Department of culture of the Gyzylarbat etrap. And theatrical groups from the Department of culture of the city of Turkmenbashy, Gyzylarbat and Bereket etraps took prizes.

The event concluded with the presentation of diplomas, certificates of honour, and commemorative gifts to the winners.
