On June 5, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, who was visiting our country.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet in person and the hospitality extended to the delegation of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan, the guest noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to developing relations with fraternal Turkmenistan. Taking the opportunity, he conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Ilham Aliyev to the head of state, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes to the President of Azerbaijan and expressed confidence that the events to be held during the visit will make a significant contribution to the development of cultural ties between our countries. He also wished the Days of Azerbaijan Culture in Turkmenistan a successful outcome.
As noted during the meeting, cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan is actively developing in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural spheres. In recent years, as a result of regular meetings and mutual visits at the state and government levels, our countries have reached a qualitatively new stage in the development of their partnership.
Cultural and humanitarian cooperation occupies a special place on the bilateral agenda. In this regard, the importance of joint cultural events, which actively exchange experiences in various areas of culture and art, was emphasized.
The head of state, noting the successful holding of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan last October, stated that such cultural contacts contribute to the rapprochement of our peoples and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.
– Following this good tradition, this year the Days of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan are being held in Turkmenistan, in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag. "Our country warmly welcomes a large delegation of Azerbaijani cultural and artistic figures," said the President of Turkmenistan.
Along with the fact that concerts and other events will be organized as part of the Culture Days, the head of state emphasized the importance of holding concerts, exhibitions, and scientific conferences dedicated to the works of such great poets and thinkers as Dovletmammet Azadi, Seyid Azim Shirvani, Makhtumkuli Fragi, and Molla Panah Vagif.
Expressing confidence that our shared historical and cultural heritage will serve as a solid foundation for deepening interstate dialogue, the President of Turkmenistan reaffirmed our country's commitment to further cooperation with fraternal Azerbaijan.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, agreed that cultural and humanitarian cooperation, which is an integral part of Turkmen-Azerbaijan relations, will continue to develop for the benefit of the fraternal peoples of the two countries, and they wished each other success.
