Having expressed the gratitude for the congratulations, the Head of the State highlighted that implementing foreign policy on the principles of neutrality and constructive international cooperation, our country is always open for constructive dialog on equal base with all interested partners including American companies. Turkmenistan is committed to the peace-making course as this is an actual global requirement, the Head of the State said.
Having given high appraisal open door strategy pursued by Turkmen leader, Eric Stuart noted that this policy supports the expansion of trade, economic and other relations between two states.
Having stated with delight productive character of collaboration with the leading business circles of USA, which successfully work for many years in our country, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that this is the merit of Turkmen – American Business Council established in 2008. In this regard, the role of the Council in steadfast development of interstate relations, which gained new features and high dynamics owing to the efforts of the sides, has been highlighted.
At the same time, the President continued, the potential of two countries can be used more efficiently, first of all, taking into account the diversification of the economy of Turkmenistan, development of high-technology productions and transport infrastructure. Our country is attractive for foreign investments according to the result of independent expertise.
Progressive reforms made solid foundation for rapid and qualitative economic growth and social progress in Turkmenistan. The President highlighted that today, we are at the stage that requires daring projects, which would be the moving power of economic cooperation.
During the meeting, the Head of the State and his guest discussed the priorities of productive cooperation, having reviewed the opportunity of the participation of USA business circles on investment projects in different spheres. In this context, it was spoken about the importance of regular business forums, which helps to define efficient directions in expansion of bilateral relations.
Big potential available in such directions as fuel and energy complex, electrical energy, sport, tourism. Agriculture and processing industry was highlighted. Having noted that long-term investments to the economy are important factors of its development, the President of Turkmenistan expressed the confidence in further expansion of the partnership in investment sphere.
Transport and logistic centre was also highlighted among topical directions of cooperation. Having stated that Turkmenistan having favourable geographic location plays key role in the region, the businessman congratulated the Head of the State on the opening of modern logistic hub – Turkmenbashy International Seaport, which is important facility for Eurasian routes.
Continuing the conversation, the sides noted the importance of big international projects of construction of transport and communication routes. Their orientation to the diversification and development of production industry and to integrated development of the economy is important distinguishing feature of investment programmes implemented in Turkmenistan. In this aspect, the experience of United States of America seems to be useful for Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted.
It was highlighted that innovative component of economic reforms in Turkmenistan, favourable investment climate and beneficial terms for the activity of foreign companies and emerging modern infrastructure present big opportunities for the work of foreign businessmen. In this context, Mr Stuart expressed the interest of American corporation in further consolidation of fruitful cooperation with our country and intent to present efficient technologies to Turkmen side.
