Every year on June 27, Turkmenistan celebrates the Day of Culture and Art Workers and the Poetry of Magtymguly Fragi. In connection with this occasion, as well as the Days of Culture traditionally held during the third decade of June, large-scale festive events are taking place across the country. These celebrations serve as a creative showcase of the achievements of cultural figures, artists, and literary masters who shape the spiritual world of the Turkmen people.

Following a well-established tradition, the Lebap Velayat Museum of History and Local Lore hosted an exhibition of paintings and graphic art entitled “Bedew bady bilen halypadan şägirde uzaýan ylham” (“Inspiration Passed from Mentor to Student with the Swiftness of a Steed”). The exhibition features works by Alymjan Ishankuliyev, a teacher at the Painting Department of the Velayat Specialized Arts School, Yelena Ishankuliyeva, a teacher at the Turkmenabat Children's Art School, as well as works created by their students and pupils.

The participation of renowned artists, cultural and artistic figures, and university students in the opening ceremony added special significance and atmosphere to the event. Visitors had the opportunity to explore artworks created by A. Ishankuliyev, E. Ishankuliyeva, and their talented students. The paintings vividly portray the beauty of Turkmen nature, national values, and, naturally, the graceful images of Turkmen horses.

The cups, certificates of honor, and special diplomas displayed at the exhibition testify to the active participation of the young artists in various national and international online competitions, where many of them have become prize winners. Their achievements in the world of art are the result of the dedicated and inspiring work of their mentors. The exhibition became a creative gift from teachers and students in honor of their professional holiday.

In addition, the Lebap Velayat Department of Culture organized a creative conference entitled “Medeniýet halkyň kalbydyr” (“Culture is the Soul of the People”). The event brought together both experienced and young professionals who have devoted their lives to this important and creative field.

During the conference, which vividly demonstrated the continuity of traditions and the value of mentorship, respected masters of the stage and literature spoke about the key tasks facing cultural workers in the country. They discussed the favorable conditions created for the development of the cultural sector, as well as the extensive efforts being undertaken to study, preserve, and promote Turkmenistan’s rich national heritage worldwide.

Following the official part of the conference, participants visited a book exhibition prepared by staff members of the velayat library.
