The team of the Dashoguz State musical and drama theatre named after Nurmuhammet Andalyp prepared a wonderful creative gift for Turkmenistan Culture Week in the Balkan velayat and the Day of culture, art, and Magtymguly poetry. These days the troupe is finishing work on the production of the new play «Jennet mukamy». A colourful performance, rich in music and folklore, based on a national legend, was staged by theater director Bekmyrat Hallyyev based on the work of G. Danatarov and N. Soyunov.

A captivating theatrical performance about love and the multifaceted power of the Turkmen dutar transports the audience to a distant epoch, to the youth of Baba Gammar, who is popularly considered the first to make this national musical instrument and subsequently became its patron. Let's keep the suspense for the viewer and tell you only about some of the main plot points.

Young Gammar, possessing a bright, miraculous gift, finds himself in one of the distant lands. Here he meets his love - the only daughter of the local ruler. The main character faces many trials and obstacles from enemies, and his beloved also falls seriously ill. On the advice of a kind old man (Ýagşy-zada), Gammar makes a dutar, the music of which heals the girl. The production ends happily - the ruler blesses the lovers.

The new production features not only young talents but also renowned theatre artists such as honoured artists of Turkmenistan H. Shyhyyev and M. Seyidov. The role of Gammar is masterfully performed by B. Dovlyyev, the role of the daughter of the ruler by M. Aristanova.

The premiere of the play will take place in Dashoguz, during the Turkmenistan Culture Week in the Balkan velayat.
