A gala exhibition of works by Turkmen artists, «Culture and art – the light of the soul of Magtymguly Fragi», opened at the Exhibition Centre of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. The exhibition is dedicated to the Day of cultural and art workers, as well as the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi.

During the opening ceremony of the exhibition, 65 artists were awarded valuable gifts by Charymyrat Yazmyradov, Chairman of the Union of artists of Turkmenistan, for their active participation in the cultural life and outstanding talent of the country. On this joyful note, guests began their acquaintance with the exhibits presented by the masters of the brush for their professional holiday.

One of the awarded artists is Rahman Umarov. He presented a triptych with a portrait of Magtymguly in the central part at the exhibition. Every artist has his own Magtymguly. Rahman Umarov is a middle-aged man of intelligent appearance with traces of sadness in his eyes. The painting contains a lot of red colour, which makes it stand out from other works. This is the aura of honesty and truth that has always accompanied and continues to accompany the poet and citizen.

The classic of Turkmen poetry presented Guncha Myradova in a completely different way. The artist depicted the poet as a young man, almost a teenager. The gaze of Magtymguly lingers in front of painting of G. Myradova. One gets the impression that the young man knows what fate awaits him. It is as if he is standing on the threshold of discovering the secrets of the Universe.

Meylis Atayev presented two paintings under the same title «Magtymguly» at the exhibition. Both works are painted in soft tones. This makes the painting look like a graphic work. The artist depicted a young poet in love with a girl named Mengli, causing everything around to smell of happiness.

In the painting «In the homeland of Magtymguly», Muhammet Rejepgeldiyev depicted an eagle perched on the top of a cliff in a mountain gorge in Karakala. The keen-eyed bird, like a faithful guard, keeps its eyes on the path below, carefully examining the travelers. It is quite certain that Magtymguly once walked along this path. And perhaps the eagle is still waiting for him to appear.

In memory of Magtymguly's passion for jewellery, the exhibition featured three displays of women's jewellery. Jewellers Ayjemal Charyyeva, Govher Nurymova, and Akgul Annasaparova with their son Allayar Batyrov presented their collections here.

At almost every exhibition, Dilber Umarova presents a collection of ceramic characters – cute, cheerful fellow villagers with mischievous children and kind, smiling elders, as well as plump, curly-haired lambs. And at the current exhibition, the Dilber heroes from the «Rural life» collection delighted visitors with their positivity.

The exhibition dedicated to Magtymguly Fragi showcased the varied artistic visions of the poet and also showcased the skill of Turkmen artists.
