On 22 June 2026, a professional development course for the faculty members of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas was launched at the China University of Petroleum in Beijing. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People’s Republic of China, the leadership and faculty members of the China University of Petroleum, as well as the delegation of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas.
The speakers emphasized the high level of development of the Turkmen-Chinese strategic partnership, which covers a wide range of areas, including education, science, and the training of highly qualified specialists.
During the meeting, the successful activities of the “Luban Workshop”, opened in April this year within the framework of the visit to Turkmenistan by Ding Xuexiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, were also highlighted.
Within the framework of the working discussions, the sides considered current issues related to further improving the quality of specialized education, expanding the exchange of experience between leading oil and gas universities of the two countries, as well as developing joint educational projects.
Following the official part of the event, a meeting was held between representatives of the delegation of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas and Turkmen diplomats with students of the China University of Petroleum.
During the meeting, the representative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan informed the students about the main directions of the country’s foreign policy and emphasized the significance of the motto of 2026 — “Independent neutral Turkmenistan is the homeland of purposeful heavenly horses”.
