358 Kilometers Across the Garagum Desert: Winners of Turkmenistan Rally Raid Championship Announced

Turkmenistan has concluded its national Rally Raid Championship, bringing together the country's top drivers and showcasing the continued development of domestic motorsport. The two-day competition, held on June 27–28, took place on challenging and scenic routes across the Dashoguz and Ahal velayats.

The prestigious event was organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports, the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.

The total race distance covered 358 kilometers, with the route running through the harsh terrain of the Garagum Desert. The rally raid consisted of two main special stages: the first measured 181.32 km, while the second covered 61.43 km. Crews representing the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Motor Transport of Turkmenistan competed in the event.

Amid fierce competition, the drivers demonstrated exceptional vehicle handling skills, endurance, and the ability to navigate the demanding desert landscape. Following two days of intense racing, the overall winners and medalists were determined.

The championship title was claimed by Bayram Annagulyyev of the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan. Driving a Nissan Patrol, he completed the challenging course in 3 hours, 39 minutes, and 56 seconds.

The silver medal went to Merdan Toylyyev, representing the Ministry of Motor Transport of Turkmenistan. Also competing in a Nissan Patrol, he crossed the finish line with a time of 3 hours, 46 minutes, and 1 second.

Third place was secured by Charyyar Charyyarov, an officer of the Ahal Velayat Police Department, who completed the course in a Toyota Hilux in exactly 4 hours and 2 minutes.

The championship served as clear evidence of the steadily growing skill of Turkmenistan's rally drivers.
